• Stack 4–6 tortillas, wrap in a slightly damp clean kitchen towel or paper towel.

• Microwave on high for 30–45 seconds.

• Keep them wrapped or place in a tortilla warmer to maintain softness.

 

🟡 Best for: small batches and home use
🔺 Be careful not to overheat — it can dry them out.

Step 1. Prepare your tortilla leaving it at room temperature prior using.

 

Step 2. Moist the tortilla and comal/plancha with a mixture of water and edible oil or lard (we use a spray bottle) . The comal must be at a medium temperature.

 

Step 3. Flip your tortillas quickly and only twice, then remove from comal.

Extra tip: If you are preparing double tortilla tacos we recommend to heat both tortillas at the same time.

🌿 Pro Tip: Heat multiple tortillas at once and stack in a towel to stay warm.

• Wrap tortillas in a clean towel or parchment paper.

• Place in a steamer over boiling water for 10–15 minutes.

• Keep covered until ready to use.

 

🟡 Best for: prepping large batches, keeping tortillas soft for long periods
💧 Optional: Add a small piece of plastic wrap inside the steamer lid to trap steam and avoid drying.

• Wrap stacks of 5–10 tortillas in foil (optionally add parchment inside to avoid sticking).

• Place in a preheated 350°F (175°C) oven for 15–20 minutes.

• Remove only when ready to serve.

❄️ Works well when reheating from frozen.
